Game one is scheduled to get underway at 7:00 p.m. with game two set for 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and game three to begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday. The Bulls enter the weekend at 11-6 on the year as they look to end a two-game skid. In their most recent time on the diamond, USF fell 8-2 to No. 19 FIU. The two sides were deadlocked at 2-2 in the seventh before the Panthers put five runs on the board in the frame to secure the win. SCOUTING RHODE ISLAND USF has gotten off to a slow start as they enter the weekend with a 2-11 record. Their two wins have come against Florida Gulf Coast and Marshall. The Rams have struggled offensively hitting just .206 as a team. Tim Caputo is the lone URI batter to boast an average over .300 sporting a .500 batting average (10-for-20). On the hill, Rhode Island has a 4.46 team ERA. Lou Distasio is 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA. Brad Applin has the other win for the Rams in relief. PROMOTION FOR THE WEEKEND Sunday- Picnic in the Park (Spanish Menu) QUICK HITTERS • USF has outscored their opponents 109-59 on the year • USF’s 109 runs scored and .381 on-base percentage mark is second best in The American while leading in walks (75) • USF is third in the conference w/a 2.53 ERA and .227 batting average against • Casey Mulholland was name The American Pitcher of the Week after shutting out Northwestern over eight innings allowing just three hits, walking one and striking out eight. • Mulholland currently ranks in a tie for third with 19 strikeouts on the season • USF allowed its first home run of the season in game one of the FSU mid-week series, only Temple has yet to allow a long ball this season • Defensively, USF has committed the most errors in The American with 29 • Buddy Putnam ranks second in the conference with 14 RBIs. He also entered the week ranked second nationally with five sacrifice flies on the year • Daniel Portales leads The American with 11 walks and is 2nd w/22 hits and 4th with 12 RBIs • Kyle Teaf leads the conference w/16 runs scored, 23 hits while having the 3rd most walks w/10 • Jordan Strittmatter leads the conference in appearances with 10.
