Hr didn't block out. Almost like he didn't expect the player to contest the rebound

And it was the most crucial stage of the game to not block out.  Like I said, "What a way to end your college career."  If he had given full effort there at that juncture and still loses the rebound, then he could of at least said to himself that he did everything he could...but he left the floor knowing full well he slacked or lost focus...perhaps both.

It wasn't just Rudd. I've been noticing our FT defense seems especially weak. It's as if they expect it to go in, so there's no sense in trying to be ready for a rebound. That's on Coach.

Rudd is a very good post defender and a good rebounder for his size and position. His basketball iq and brain farts will be what keeps him out of the league.

We must have been watching a different guy over the last few years. When he was posted up he usually gave up 2. Always commented to my wife how bad his low post D was. You are right about his rebounding. That he did well.

He made it difficult to pass it into the post and he was not easily backed down. Just cause a guy hits a shot over you with a hand in the face doesn't mean that you are a bad post defender.

His helpside defense is terrible. His perimeter defense is lacking. But the young man played good post defense.

Will have to agree to disagree on this one.

He's on the West Coast showing out.

Not surprising. I'd revise DEL's comment to be:

Rudd is very athletic a very good post defender and a good rebounder for his size and position. His basketball iq and brain farts will be what keeps him out of the league.

[edit] He has decent instincts for the ball off the rim and great moves to beat & finish off the dribble--especially when you consider his height--but he often got out-thought and/or out-muscled. I like the kid, though, there's a lot of raw talent there if a coach can harness it and teach him.

You know, I value the fact that Victor Rudd has played for us the past four years...but it is such a shame that last "lack of focus" pretty much summed up his career here.  What a painful way to end your college career.

I'm confused - no link to information indicated in the title??

Meaningless without a link to anyone who doesn't closely track theses things...
