Actually the defense is more of a concern in my opinion

Stans teams have always been decent defensively. I think he can get that fixed.

I agree but this year it seems to be more of a problem. It seems that we've score over 60 pts alot more this year than last.

So the consensus is:

a ) 3-point shooting

b ) free-throw shooting

c ) uniforms

d ) offense

e ) defense

f ) transition

sooooo....looks to me like shoe selection has been taken care of.

Yeah, that short list of shortcomings can be addressed.

He hasn't improved the offense in 7 years. Don't think he'll figure it out in year 8.

Shooting...anything outside of layups and alley oops

Free Throw shooting

Playing a complete game...no more 18-2 runs against us. No more 6 minute scoring droughts that hit every game.

1) Establishing a more free-flowing offense. This halfcourt mumbo jumbo that Heath's trotted out as an offense his past seven seasons makes no sense to me.

2) Getting back to playing some lock-down D, especially on the perimeter. We keep getting burned by streaky shooting by the opposing team.

3) We need to be able to hit the "3-ball" with some consistency, so we can provide our big men some flexibility to work the ball in under the hoop.

Uniforms are not even a concern. They would look amazing if we were winning!

First thing they can do is have a no-nonsense AD that demands performance from his head coaches and their teams.  Since I just received my notification for the 2014-2015 MBB season tickets, I have declined to commit until I can effectively evaluate (as a USF alumnus, donor, and fan) the hire at the AD position.  We'll know soon enough who this person is and what he is all about.  Until then, my commitment for MBB is on hold.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
