Haven't heard anything about HR's. Does that mean we've gone 3 games against weak competition without one? That is a cause for concern if we haven't. Know it is cold out and the ball may carry better as it warms up, but still. Nice to get runs but would like to see at least a bit of power.

There was a HR in one of the games but, hitting HRs isn't important, it's all about On-base %, productive at-bats, whether it's walks, or getting out but forcing the pitcher to high pitch counts, and effective pitching.

Speaking of high pitch counts, is there a hard rule now in college baseball? 80 pitches and you're done for 4 days or some such?

Not saying we can't win without them, but when you play small ball everyone has to contribute.  Sometimes it is nice to score 3 on one swing instead of 6 hits strung together.  I've watched our baseball team a lot over the last few years.  There were too many times when we'd get 2 or 3 hits in an inning and not score.
