Any takers on my bet that our next AD is no one mentioned in this thread so far?

Would be dumb to bet against you.

That's pretty much a sure bet. Look at the NIU search. They announced 3 finalists and ended up hiring someone not even on that list. They got the asst AD at Wisconsin. I'd love to get an asst. AD from a successful P5 program.

USF needs a proven leader and someone respect respected in P5 circles. Has to be innovative and a go getter. And able to find the best coaching talent USF can afford. How about looking at getting on of the new P5 ADs? Or one of the ADs from one of the new SEC teams? I think this next AD is going to be the one that seals USF's fate for a long time in regards to staying a mid-major on the outside of getting another shot at the big time.

someone like ironside?

Definitely not someone like you, a comic wannabe. Just glancing at your last few posts, which have brought up two recruits not going to USF, sub sauce, USF being at the bottom and a meme photo, you're a perfect candidate for ignore. Congrats! You did something productive today, stopped wasting my time reading your replies.

oh sorry i forgot...thebullspen is a serious workplace. no time for jokes

I will say that Ironside has the same chance of being our new AD as we have of pulling a P5 AD away  ..... especially from the SEC.

And welcome to SIC ... Slick's Ignore Club.

I had never heard of him either...

It would be a non-traditional hire, that is for sure... but he has familiarity - he's a USF alumnus and former assistant athletic director.

I remember when he was the Mens Basketball manager.  You know, smazza was too, long before Rob Higgins.

Did LRS have any experience before we hired him?

Srs question, I have no idea

No, and his greatest USF-related successes were not as an AD.

Are you implying that the hiring of Mac wasn't a success? ... And just to be clear on Hem's question, Lee Roy didn't have any experience when USF originally hired him but he was an Assistant AD to Griffin for 8 years before moving to AD.
