Yeah, this one was a laugher. FSU looks like they may be playing for all the marbles in January...or at least they'll have as good an argument as Oregon or Ohio St.

I think if all four finish undefeated (unlikely, but possible), Alabama will stay a solid #1 and Ohio State would be a solid #4 based on a weaker schedule than the other four. The question mark will be between Oregon and FSU. Each will have beaten two top 10 teams at that point (Clemson and Miami for FSU; UCLA and Stanford for Oregon). FSU needs to hope Miami wins out and stays in the top 10 so if and when FSU beats them again in the ACC title game, that'll help FSU. Hopefully Oregon loses to Stanford and/or Bama loses to LSU this coming week.

most likely if Oregon stays undefeated they will be playing in the national championship... The real question is what happens if Alabama loses 1 game....do they get in over FSU?

Miami's O line was solid in the first half but they faded in the second half...overall a solid game to watch.

No way a 1-loss Alabama gets in over an FSU that runs the table.  FSU has two top 10 wins - Alabama has none to date.

Agree. SEC might carry the biggest stick, but the P5 alliance evened the playing field a bit. And their schedule is not as strong as it has been in years past; definitely not enough to make up for a loss.

I looked it up.... They beat Texas A&M  #6. and Ole Miss #21.....They still have to play LSU, Auburn and probably Missou

Clemson and Miami????? IMO they are not top 10 material

Gotcha.  I wasn't sure what TAMU was ranked when Bama beat them.  Still, that win was not nearly as decisive as FSU's wins against Clemson and Miami.  Bama almost got beat by TAMU and would have, if TAMU had any defense at all.

Talent-wise, I disagree with you regarding Clemson and Miami being top 10 material.

Clemson and Miami are great offensive teams but defensively they are fair.

Baylor is the other team to watch but I doubt they run the table. Their upcoming schedule is brutal.  Oklahoma, Texas Tech, @ OSU, @TCU and Texas....and then their championship game....lol good luck with that.

I think Clemson is a top 10 team. Miami? They're more like 15-21 IMO. They have zero quality wins (now that UF sucks) and have nearly lost to two mediocre teams.

Like gausfbull said, the decisiveness of FSU's victories over highly ranked teams matters. But alas, FSU's remaining schedule is garbage (thanks, in part, to UF's implosion) and is going to work against them if Oregon beats Stanford tomorrow and wins out.

FSU's only hope is for Oregon and/or Alabama to lose (or look poorly in their big games) and/or to face and blow out a highly ranked opponent (hopefully Miami, again) in the ACC championship game. The Canes have the inside track to winning their division and playing FSU again but with Duke's injury and the team's inconsistency, they may not.

Well, so much for all that speculation LOL.

FSU and Bama now both control their destinies.
