Ok let me try this again how about one of these bad boys for the trophy?

That can either go somewhere on the trident, or be a sheild to accompany the trident.

This...and it has to be all old and crusty.  Keep track of history on the back.  Winner keeps it for a year.  Kind of like the "bucket of nails"

Tampa Sport Authority will not allow any trophies to be brought to the Stadium in so just forget it. <sarcasm>

UCF and us are carbon freaking copies of each other, and I for one welcome our new AAC brethren.

That is pretty much true. Both schools are around 50% lifetime winning percentages, so neither one has really lit it up. Being in the same conference pretty much puts the official seal of approval on this rivalry, and even the conference bosses tout it. It is time to get over the superiority line of thinking as our placeholder position comes to an end. Time to get used to the new agenda, 'cause we just might be here a tad longer than some hope.

That really is the main thing that will finally drive this rivalry that so many think we can't do without. All this blathering about hating them means it has to be a rivalry is absurd. I hate UF more than Miami and UCF put together. Does that mean they're our rival? A rivalry isn't built on hating someone because they have some of the most obnoxious fans on earth. We haven't played a football game in 5 years ... a meaningful one, ever. As this thing progresses, I'm sure they're going to have Rutgers like wins that will truly warrant a rivalry type hatred but until then there are going to be some out here that just don't think a rivalry's foundation is based on thinking the other team's fans are dickheads.

and you can put a little brass piece on it for each year with the winners logo and the year they won it.

no one wanted this rivalry and you know that.  We all do.  We wanted a Miami rivalry in the state not UCF.  I will say though that it's here and we might as well make the best of it.

I really think we need to stop this superiority attitude we have of "we're so much better than they are." We had maybe 3 seasons where we were better than UCF, but would you have wanted to play them last year? How about the year before? Hell, how about the year before that?

Let's run down the checklist:

-Metropolitan area? Check

-Massive student enrollment? Check

-Underappreciated fan base? Check

UCF and us are carbon freaking copies of each other, and I for one welcome our new AAC brethren. Let me ask everyone this: Does anyone here hate Miami half as much as they hate UCF? UCF is our rival, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

And there you have it. We absolutely have to fire Skip Holtz!

In their best season ever, we beat them 64-12. I'm just saying.

Seriously, you're right, I wouldn't have wanted to play them under Skippy, but, Leavitt could out coach drunky any day of the week and twice on Saturday. Hopefully Taggart proves that he can do the same. I suspect we'll lose this year because Skip also couldn't recruit. God I hate how the last three years changed my entire USF Football reality.

The idea of a trophy for the winner of this game is hilarious. Who really cares outside of UCiF and a few USF fans?

Let the teams play. I am flying out to see USF play Mich State. I am not flying out to see a USF-UCiF matchup.

Please, let's not shape our existence on beating a team no one else cares about. They are a conference foe and that's it.

We need to get bigger fish in the fryer or change business model and clients (fans).

Saying Skip couldn't recruit, I assume you mean as compared to Leavitt.  Other than 2009, when we had the #29 class according to Rivals, Leavitt's classes ranged from #50 to #61.  Skip had the #62 class in 2010 after coming in late, #63 in 2011, #49 in 2012, and he was partially responsible for the #49 in 2013, which would have been much better had Woulard stayed on.  Who has said he decommitted because Hotlz was fired.  You act like we've been a perennial top 25 recruiting school.

We all look better in our heads than we do in the mirror.
