Anyone else wonder why UM hasn't had any penalties yet?

It has been 2 years since the allegations were brought to light. 2 months since the hearing. UM voluntarily agreed to bowl bans the past two seasons. I want to say they began cutting scholarships too, not sure how many or which ones, but some. Again self imposed.

Times reported today that the NCAA hopes to have their findings/penalties out before beginning of the season. This is death ban worthy, though we all know that won't happen. UM is too important from a historical standpoint and they only punish smaller schools in a significant way.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out in the coming weeks and months. Should help our South Fla recruiting next year though.

UM has self imposed 2 bowl bans, an ACC Championship game ban, scholarship reductions, official visitor reductions, recruiting contact reductions, and a few other regulatory things.

 

At most I see them getting an additional 2 year bowl ban.  Even that is suspect after the botched investigation.  THey may only get a 1 year ban, which after all the voluntary reductions wouldn't be a light sentence.  Although that won't stop everyone from claiming it is.

 

Miami won't get hammered much more than they have hammered themselves.

The NCAA bungled the investigation beyond belief. I don't see Miami getting much more than what they've already self-imposed.

anymore bowl bans will venture into PSU territory which this situation is clearly not.
