That article about him and Mississippi State, which recruited him out of high school, definitely made it sound like they're in the driver's seat for him.

 

 

I read the same article and didn't get that.  I got the writer slanting things to make it look good for the hometown paper.

For what it's worth, geographically, Tampa is closer to Cairo than Starkville. 70 miles closer. I'll leave any other comparisons to you guys ...

 

I knew that .... my "Starkville closer to Cairo in more than one way" was referring to population and topography .......... yeah, that's it ....

What part gave you that impression? All he really did was confirm that there was a "mutual interest" between him and MSU ...

I didn't say you weren't.  I meant that if you published an interview with Bench, you'd have asked him about USF and he would probably be saying complimentary things about USF making the Missippi State folks think he's coming here.  Bench seems like that kind of guy.

I am really having a hard time getting worked up about Bench. His film is ok for a HS guy but I don't really see him as a Taggart style QB. All that being said, I like the competitive spark. He wants to play and win bad. Glad if we get him, not disappointed if we don't.

Dude appears to be very smart and driven.  Not overly athletic, but seems to be very accurate.  Looks to me like the perfect Taggart QB.
