Other than you, who said that he would be our savior? He's a decent QB that has been in the "heat of the battle" against top ranked opponents.

 

EDIT: He had offers from: Louisville, Pitt, USF, Stanford, and Arkansas. If he was good enough for us then, then why not now?

I don't think anyone here is saying he's a Heisman contender, but he is definitely better than Evald. Would also make it an easier decision to RS White. From what I can remember he played decent against OU when I was up there for the game. Click it or Trickett boys and girls!

Interesting that Stanford offered Trickett when Harbaugh and Taggart were still in full force there.

I would have to call you out and take exception on this one as well. As previously stated, he was recruited by Louisville, Stanford, USF, and Arkansas....hardly the Sisters of the Poor. He was 3 Stars out of high school and ranked #35 overall in the nation, ahead of a young man named Brion Carnes who we were after pretty hard for awhile and Stephen Morris who had a pretty decent season at Miami this year. 

 

Not saying that he is a savior, but I think you would be hard pressed to make the argument that he wouldn't at least be an upgrade over our current options.

Savior?  We need a guy that can control the game, not make mistakes and maybe make a play once in a while.  Not sure we have any of those on our roster right now.

Personally, I think any experienced QB that would come in and compete with Bobby and Matt and provide some depth at the position would be quite favorable. I think there is no need to debate the relative merits of a QB who miiiiiiiiiight transfer here per a rumor. Jeez y'all take it easy. Don't ya have work to do?!

Great point. Taggart was in charge of recruiting Florida for Standford. Trickett and Taggart definitely have a history.
