how big of them to do it after going 6-5.

they wouldn't self-impose a bowl ban if they weren't bowl eligible, though it would be funny to see them announce that if it were the case lol.

they could impose a bowl ban before the season ever started.

I bet they wouldn't have self imposed a ban if they were 11-1.

6-5. go to crappy bowl or make ncaa feel like we are contrite to lessen any further penalties. real tough call

You consider the Orange Bowl a crappy bowl??

they are bowl eligible. they were assured a bowl invite. at 6-5 it's likely they were going to get an invite to a crappy bowl.

They would have likely been a top 4 ACC bowl choice and none of those are crappy bowls .... Just stop and admit you posted that without really knowing about the situation.

the hyundai sun bowl or the belk bowl. #4 and #5. whoopee

I understand the ACC is trash. I also knew they could possibly play in orange bowl. you deal in possibilities and semantics. I deal in probabilities. they were most likely going to get an invite to a crappy bowl.why not fall on your sword and show the ncaa how contrite you are. it was a no brainer for them.

not crappy by our lowly standards but 4th or 5th in acc (5th best conference) is a crappy bowl.

Any bowl game that features a team with a 6-7 record would be a crappy bowl game. Maybe the game wouldn't be crappy historically and the payout may not be crappy, but any bowl game that Miami would attend (even if they managed to finish 8-5 and go to the Orange Bowl would be a crappy game).

LOL ....Not sure why I bothered. Obviously you think any bowl not a BCS bowl is a crappy bowl. They wouldn't have dropped to the 5th ACC choice. The BOB is an example of a crappy bowl.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
