I know we have already made some improvments to help these rankings, but man, we are still pretty far behind FSU and the like.

Which sucks- I believe our freshman profile the past couple years has been identical to FSU

We're improving every year. I know FSU is the target in the short term, but the gap is closing (compared to where we were just 5 years ago).

Our ranking Improved over last year and we jumped UCF. LOL

I know these things are silly, but I was curious how we stacked up against other state colleges. Schools like FAU, FIU, UWF, ect didn't rank.

National ranking

1. UM 44

2. UF 54

3. FSU 97

4. USF 170

5. UCF 174

U.S. News' 2012 Best Colleges list

USF #181

UCF #177

It would make sense we jumped UCF. They're last in nearly every category compared to the other Florida schools. We really need to improve the grad rates. Just over half finishing in 6 years?!

That's been a problem for years at USF. The theory is that USF has admitted quite a few non-traditional students in the past. USF is trying to remedy the terrible 6 yr graduation rate by really attempting to bolster their admittance of high-quality students who are FTIC, first time in college.

That is reflected in the current enrollment profile.

Non Degree UG -18.4% drop from last year.

Yup

This was the reason they implemented the rule for freshmen to live on campus (research as shown it increases graduation rates.)

Plus becoming extremely stringent on admissions . USF how accepts only 38%!!! Lowest in state

UCF is trying to pride itself on being the largest university.

But how exactly does it benefit academically? IN NO WAY

Instead as pointed out, they have the worst student-faculty ratio and number of classes with 50+ students.

Wow lowest acceptance rate so statistically we are the hardest to get into. FSU nearly 60% acceptance rate.
