Not a bit surprised. He had dropped USF off his top 5 on the 20th and UF was number one.

so were we really recruiting him if his father was our recruiter. Just kind of seems like a conflict of interest

I thought I saw on one the recruiting sites it listed his dad as our main recruiter. It is what it is, would be great to have him, but didn't expect it.

I guess he wanted to get away from home....but didn't want to be too far?

That is the only way the Florida selection makes that much sense. If I were him....and I didn't want to play for Dad (which does have some advantages but I understand if you don't want to go that route)....the LITERALLY smart move would be to have gone to Notre Dame or Stanford.

his sister is at uf, so that may have been a factor. Still with family, but mom & dad are a little bit away

How many theads did we have about mcmurphy changing jobs and ucf out recruiting us? This thread isn't any different.
