No, because we as sports fans always live in the past.

Here we go again. This is just the same argument about winning the NIT vs. playing in the NCAA's.

ALWAYS reach for the gold ring, even if you fall off the damned merry go 'round doing so.

i don't think it's quite the same thing. Winning the NIT and playing in the NCAA's fit neither spiraling in mediocrity nor achieving greatness. .... although, I'm not sure what exactly ZBC is refering to, or why it's on this particular board. Is it like would you rather be a Seattle Mariners fan or an LA Angels fan?

Neither. I'm a Bulls fan.

BTW, I have no idea what point you're making here.

Honestly, I don't have a clue to an answer. I think you'd have to walk a mile in the shoes of both those type fans before you know how one would feel and then how you'd want to feel ...

Why can't you do both? Taste greatness once and the spiral in mediocrely there after.

The Angels have had quite a bit of success in recent years. The Mariners? Not so much, since they won more games in the regular season than any other team in baseball history, back in 2001, I believe.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
