Im interested to see what this park looks like. I can picture the big open area on the south side of the library. Any landscaping improves the look of campus, so I'm all for it.

That big open area is a vital parking lot for many USF students. You really want to get rid of it?

Yes, I do. Less parking on campus helps encourage more people to live on campus/close to campus and use the Bull Runner. UF, FSU, and many other universitiies dont have near the amount of parking USF has. USF is attempting to shed it's commuter image. So if you are asking me if I would rather have a nice lush park that helps make our campus more beautiful rather than a parking lot, my answer is a definite yes.

Are they doing anything to the outside of the building?

I realize the area they are talking about it in between the massive marking lot to the south of the Library and the Library itself. I was not sure if they are using the grass lot now as extra parking, so I was simply responding to his question. Thats the perfect place to put a park to improve campus aesthetics.

They're upgrading it to get another 30 or so years out of it. Space is not the issue, its the technology aspect and catching the building up to the 21st century.

That said, it's not a flashy new building, and the older areas of the building feel like a prison. It's all about $$$$

At least paint it, the white brick with the salmon looks terrible.

Glad the interior, where it matters, is getting upgraded.
