Godfrey is not a thug and Uncle Luke did try to take him under his wing and thought he'd be some next big star...got his father to buy into it, as well. They were delusionally thinking Godfrey was going to be a cash cow in the NFL. Godfrey started every game last season, but was benched each game in the last half of the season for (a better performing) Blake Bortles. His father and Uncle Luke pulled the race card and went nuts and swayed Godfrey to leave UCF. Godfrey's mom talked him into coming back to UCF and Godfrey spoke with GOL.
