Guest AstroBull Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 She is the little sister of OL Derrick Sarosi. Right now she has USF as one of her top 3 schools. Her dad says the way everyone treated Derrick is swaying her to become a Bull. TITUSVILLE - -- It's not supposed to be this easy, not when you're in the regional semifinals only a game away from the final four, but Astronaut made it look that way Tuesday. The No. 5-ranked War Eagles (25-2) spanked Jacksonville Lee, 80-52, in the Class 4A, Region 2 girls' basketball semifinals, earning a berth in Saturday's regional finals. They will host the winner between Jacksonville Jackson and Rockledge at 7 p.m. for the right to go to state. It was evident from the outset that the visiting Generals were no match for the War Eagles even though they came into the game with a 26-2 record and a No. 6 state ranking.Lee made the first basketball of the game, but that was the last time the Generals led. Stephanie Sarosi, the War Eagles' 6-foot-5 junior center got her team off to a sizzling start with eight points in the first three minutes, but she drew her second foul with 4:42 to go in the opening quarter and headed to the bench. No problem.Immediately after her departure, Danielle Williams hit a runner and Erika Bennett and Vicky Williams hit back-to-back 3-pointers. When that little surge was over, Astronaut led 16-3 and by the end of the quarter they were out in front 25-11."Once the big girl came off the court, we thought we could get back into it, but 11 and 33 and 21 stepped up," said Lee coach Derrell Johnson. "Our scouting report said if we could stop the big girl, we could stop them, but that wasn't the case."It sure wasn't. Sophomore LaQuita Curry scored eight of her game-high 19 points in the second quarter, Danielle Williams added five and Vicky Williams had four."Our defense was just like it was against (St. Augustine) Nease in the quarterfinals," Astronaut coach Gregg Hostetler said.Sarosi finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds and Danielle Williams contributed 11 points and 14 rebounds.

He said he would try to use his influence and positive experience to steer her to USF... that is all's I can add... but big D loves USF as much as anyone I know and another Sarosi at USF is a bright moment for our school.

The 17-under team had five players sign with Division I programs recently. The Lady Shockers are led by 6-6 center Stephanie Sarosi, who is being heavily recruited by Tennessee and Connecticut.
