The best thing about soccer in my world is that USF is actually pretty **** good. Besides that the World Cup is excellent, but it is just hard to get into otherwise.

My brother coaches at the D1 level in the Northeast. I hear some things from time to time. Soccer is a game for kids that will never challenge the popularity of football, baseball, or basketball in America (at least not during our lifetime). Just my two cents...

The kids thing, I don't agree with. The popularity issue I agree 100%.

Perhaps our marketing campaign can be "soccer rhymes with gay"?

Sheriff, who cares about the popularity of soccer relative to football or baseball? What the hell are you even arguing and who are you arguing it against? The voices in your head?

I have to agree with puc86. We need to bring out our ECU bowl campaign slogan.

It seems like a natural fit

Why the fixation on gay? What makes you say that? Do you think that sprinters, or distance runners, or swimmers, of golfers, or tennis players…... are gay? What makes soccer players gay? Seriously, what makes you think that playing soccer is gay?

My best advice here would be to consider the source and just move on ...

No... Just golfers with their goofy pants and soccer players. You know what they say about opinions...

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
