commuter school means nothing. it's not like it's nova SE where everyone takes classes online. fanbase is still in ft. lauderdale and miami, and very large.

c-usa would be smart to fill ucf void with another florida school. right now it's fau or fiu to logically move "up".

ucf, smu, and houston are gone. fiu fills a hole, maybe they pick up LA Tech from the WAC (who has been decent lately), and have no idea who else could fill in. Middle TN St? WKU? who knows.

This is a good indicator that RU is not in bed with Big10 or ACC.

Otherwise they would not have been jilted by FIU head coach. They also would not have made a lowball offer.

Get you facts straight. Cristobal was offers by RU a five year deal at $2 million per. The sticking point was the $2 million buyout. RU is well aware that Cristobal has his sights set to returning to Florida at one of the BCS schools if given the opportunity. Neither side could get beyond that and it cause the breakdown. Both sides walked away. Flood isn't being low balled. Given his lack of HC experience factored in to his contract. Flood's based is low, but it's has incentives to where he can be over a $1 million with ease. If Flood proves himself quick RU is know to rip up contracts and do it over.

Maybe both FIU and FAU.

Don't forget North Texas - CUSA will want to hold on to the Dallas market. UTSA or Texas State in San Marcos gets the the Austin-San Antonio corridor. They still have Houston with Rice

True, though I'm not sure North Texas has any sort of winning program yet and that might hurt their chances. I was thinking of throwing out UTSA because of their ridiculous enrollment (have heard they could be the next "USF" in terms of rise), but not sure if they would leapfrog other potentials just yet. I know Texas State and UT-SA are slated for the WAC, but depending on how the dominoes fall with C-USA and the MWC filling in holes, the WAC may dissolve/merge and UT-SA could look to Sunbelt or C-USA. Probably will be a few years.

Looking at candidates, I could see C-USA maybe going after Temple for all sports (would be a wise move, IMO) for the market and their teams are better nowadays. They do have ties to the Military Bowl in DC already too which is close by, and could serve as a northern/coastal buddy for Marshall and ECU to an extent. I guess we'll see those moves made in the next 12 months as the BE starts to bring over the C-USA schools.

Still you have to admit that Rutgirls is taking a PR hit on this one.

Maybe we will blow a 14 point lead with 7 minutes left, it's possible.
