Big East Basketball Tournament

Would anyone like to bet $100 that USF will not make the Big East Tournament before we hit 2010.  Next year is going to be scary with the loss of Swift, TL, and MB.  Great effort by the Bulls today.

Since CRM has been here is best win is.......Southern Miss last year.  

I still think we should extend his contract heading into the B.E or it will be VERY tough to bring kids in with 3 years left on his contract.

I'll take that bet Harvey... 2010 for $100. I can see us making it before then... say like in 2009 as the 12 seed. I bet $100 we will have a new coach by 2010.

Harvey does bring up a good point though in that McCullum needs more time. The BIG EAST tourney is a tough one to get to right now with only 12 teams advancing. I expect McCullum to find his offensive players. To be honest, I would bet that Terrance would be gone from USF if Seth was still the coach. I think Collin Dennis will be the special player that USF fans will soon love. Dennis is now my favorite BASKETBULL for next season.

So we are now rewarding at best mediocrity? CRM has the next 10 months to get this program in order. That is,he has to finish out the 2004-2005 recruiting class and then somehow get kids to take him seriously at the upcoming June and July shoe camps. Traditionally, most of the Top 150 players in the country are courted in these camps and if you don't get on these kids Top 5 list you really have no chance to sign them by the November early NCCA signing date. BTW, most top 150 kids sign early.

I have not given up on CRM but by late november we should know how this team is going to fare over the next 2-3 years.
