Defense was great today

Bulls impressed me on defense... mostly well contested shots, with the exception of a 2-3 minute streak mid 2nd half.  Again we couldn't hit a 3 for anything, but we found a way to stay in the game.  Lots of turnovers, especially by Swift early, but we hung with #9 team in the land, on the road, after they were humiliated by Memphis.

On the radio it sounded like they had a stretch where they hit some uncontested 3s...every time we got close - downcourt and a quick 3...what were we doing?  On the other hand, it seemed like the officiating was a little one-way with a lot of calls on the Bulls as we tried to close the gap in the second.  I think McCullum coached a great game - a little more luck from behind the arc and the game is a nail-biter.

McCullum just commented on the touch fouls that put UL in the bonus before the first media timeout of the 2nd half - "but we can't control that."

Like i said, there was a streak where they had some open shots that weren't contested well, but some of the 3's that were going down by O'Bannon and Dean weren't uncontested... just excellent shots.

Overall, it was a good performance by the Bulls. They hung in their and had a lot of heart.

Wish some 3's would have fallen earlier in the game... could have been huge!

I have to say it because Velcro is too nice and professional to say it. The C-USA officials suck, and I am throwing a big party on 7/1/05 because I cant stand C-USA refs/officials. To be honest, the C-USA officials have screwed USF for a very long time. They are a true joke to the game. GOOD RIDDANCE!!!!

I agree 100% Brahman! CUSA refs in both FB and BB seem to have somethin against USF.  And on the rare occurance that they are not partial, they just plain suck.  I'll be glad to get away from that!

Good game by the Bulls, makes me feel a lot better after that loss to St. Louis.  The guys played a tough game today.
