Curious what people think on this topic and why..... I'll withold my opinion until some of the polling takes place, so as not to taint the results.

But I have been thinking of the pros and cons of a bowl for a team who didn't do so well. There are many facets to consider and from different standpoints, for the school, the players, the coaches, for the team, the fans, tv/media, etc....

UCLA is gonna be 6-7 and they will be going to a bowl, so absolutely a 6-6 team should go.

Absolutely not. This has been my opinion for years and it would be somewhat self-serving to change it now. I think perhaps a 6-6 team should be bowl eligible only if that haven't been to a bowl in the past say 2 years. Bowls should be a reward for a good/decent season. No one in USF Athletics better think that is what this was and therefore we shouldn't be bowling - regardless of win or loss.

But the rules are what they are, I am not suggesting we should decline invitations. Just that for the integrity of the bowl experience, AQ teams that go 1-5 in conference and get to 6 wins play teams like FAMU and Ball St shouldn't be bowling.

In that case, the Big East should lose its AQ status because a 7-5 team should never be in a BCS bowl. How would a Lousiville v. Arkansas game look like??? Last year, an 8-4 team from the Big East went BCS and we all know what happened. The Big East is on par with CUSA and the WAC in terms of conference strength. We can't keep a team ranked to save our lives, and don't give me the balanced competitive league BS because the OOC losses for the Big East are alarming!!!

I don't want it to happen, but it should happen. Especially if Boise says no.

It's ridiculous that 70 teams out of 120 go to a bowl game. They are no longer a reward for a good season, but just another tv revenue generator. Bowls should be cut from 35 to 25 so only the top 50 teams are rewarded.

Half of the NCAA goes to bowls. So, yes a 6-6 team deserves to go to a bowl game. Obviously all the 6-6 team bowl games suck, so the reward is equal to performance. I don't see a problem with it.

AQ should be refined to have a minimum of 9 wins for the season. If your conference champion doesn't have 9 wins then substitute a higher ranked team.

Yes, because the rules allow it. If six wins is all you need to be bowl eligible and there are open bowl slots then you deserve to be in a bowl.

The way the system is set up I would have to say yes.

If we win, then I would say we are deserving. We'd have 2 nice wins wins on our resume.

79 Bull,, Bowls are not just a reward for the team, but for the fans, the school and the communities involved.

Alot of people myself included look forward to the yearly away bowl trip, playing against another conference team. Its a great vacation for most of loyal fans who follow the team (win or lose). It's the whole bowl game exp we look forward too. The Pep Rally, seeing old friends, meeting new friends the traditions ect....

Its great exposure for the school , the program and everything that USF has to show and be proud of. It is a reward for the seniors who may never play fb again, Most wont make it to the pro level. It helps build a program for next year with the extra practice time, It helps recruit better talent as well.

So yes bowls are great and we the real fans love them. Hope we keep the streak alive this year and go bowling.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
