It's a shame to have a great effort negated by an offense that is afraid to get too close to the end zone. Don't have the stats....but I don't think Rutgers gained more than 20 yards on the ground. Take away the last drive where Dodd showed how a QB is supposed to behave and it's pretty good through the air too. With a defense like we have there is NO WAY we should be losing to the teams of the BE. I will call the Pitt game a fluke...but look at the rest of the year. We have a great defense.

Special teams....wow. Fumble at our 12, 98 yard kick off return, catching a punt at the 5 (?), missed field goal with the game on the line. That's a 10 point turnaround. Which coach/es are handling special teams?

Vernon Hargreaves. Pitiful performance by special teams.

I'm not a stats junkie, but is this the first time a team has won with -7 yards rushing?

We've lost 2 conference games while only giving up 1 offensive touchdown. :o

Great defense? They've given up more than 500 yards three times this year. Gave up a last minute lead to cincy.

I don't blame the D for last night but they showed some of the same inability to get off the field on some drives and also gave up 7 (SEVEN!) Catches to Sand on the game tying drive. That's not great.

Why do you feel bad for them. One minute 15 seconds left and they just had to prevent them from getting into the end-zone. Man on man coverage and you knew they could only deep pass. We failed, furthermore, we should have kicked the field goal.

This year is over, start playing any and all red-shirt freshman and sophmores. Take BJ out and put in some other QB's time to look to next season. We stink.

Was going to say pretty much the same thing. Our defense should never be confused with a "great" defense.

That is an exaggeration if I have ever heard one. Yes, last night the defense did a great job stopping the run and Lattimore played very well, along with the front line. However, a great defense, includes a great pass and run defense. A great defense doesn't allow anticipated short strike passes to the lines when the clock is dwindling and the offense has no more timeouts. A great defense would force the quarterback to throw down the middle of the field. Rutgers last TD drive was quick, precise, and it looked as if we had no defense (on that drive). My point is that this defense is far from great; perhaps moments of greatness....yes, absolutely, but not consistent as evidenced by all of our losses and a few wins against some cupcake teams.

As I said in another post, this game was lost and won on special teams. Our special teams sucks! We rarely ever get pressure on kickers or punters. The bare bone fundamentals were lost on us yesterday on protection and returns.

I love my Bulls. We have a lot of work in the offseason to right this ship. In my opinion, too many issues need to be addressed and corrected for us this season. Many excuses can be thrown around including outside DISTRACTIONS, but a well coached team overcomes that issue and is able to stay focused. I hope our team can stick together; and that this 0-4 streak doesn't kill any chance we have to pick up another two wins to become bowl eligible. Lets, at the very least, try to keep this streak alive and make it 7.

Very disappointed Bulls fan.

defense can play really well when it wants to. I believe they kept saying that we lead the country in tackles for loss. I'm not a big fan of Snyder when we get a lead or when there is a 3rd and long. he backs off and plays prevent. we have had huge success in getting pressure the last 3 games and yet when it's crunch time he goes away from it. TD pass he goes man on the outside and rushes 4. didn't stunt the line or anything. gave QB all day to make a play. he does the same anytime it's 3rd and long.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
