Make it rain, please! I take no pleasure in seeing my alma mater quite possibly/probably getting the short end of the stick and I don't like being bummed out by our prospects (and the perfect storm of falling apart in conference play again on top of it).

What do you base your optimism on?

I'm frustrated with having to wait on invites, but let's see what they do tomorrow. There's supposedly a good chance invites will go out following the meeting.

And I get that it's fun to call Marinatto a "potato head." His head does look rather round and bulbous, and he does shoulder some of the blame with how things have gone, for perhaps failing to play the part of visionary or providing good advice to the Big East's member institutions. But remember that ultimately he does not make the decisions. The presidents of the member institutions make the the decisions, some of which (Pitt, Syracuse, WVU, maybe others who were less fortunate) were clearly delaying so that they could get out of the Big East before anything meaningful was done to keep it together. So we should be venting at least some of our frustrations with them, too.

Don't the bylaws require a 72 hour cooling off period following meetings/conference calls? (I'm only half joking)

Sounds familiar, I could swear I've heard that somewhere before. If conf sends a bunch of invites to teams that won't accept(read anyone any good) the Big East looks stupid. If they send invites to the bottom feeders they look like idiots also. This conference is toast, there is no fallback strategy
