Maybe I'm just a gloomy Gus, but I just don't see it happening. I think it would be a good move for the future of the program, but I'm not sure it makes sense for the Big 12.

USF's closest conference mate now is 730 miles (flight) / 875 miles (drive) away as it is now.

What makes that much difference if you have a 3 hour flight to Louisville or a 4 hour flight to Stillwater?? 1 hour. It's not ridiculous.

no direct flights to oklahoma city from tampa. oklahoma city is 60 miles from stillwater.

you're talking about a 6 or 7 hour trip at best.

for a basketball player to leave after a 7 pm central time game on a wednesday would be a nightmare.

with the time change and perfect flight schedule they would be lucky to make it back in time for a 9 am class the next day.

Though, if the Big East is guaranteed to keeps it's AQ bid, I'm not sure if it's the best move. Unless if the new TV deal the Big East gets is going to be much much worse than the B12.

USF is definitely in the mix. But I'd be shocked if we get the nod.

No direct flights as of today, you mean.

yes. you think the airlines add a direct flight to okc to accommodate our olympic sports?

even if they do it's a 4 hour flight plus 1 hour drive. still makes the trip 5 hours at best.

Would love it if us going to the Big12 were to pan out. Imagine our RJS with Texas or Oklahoma playing there...would be a packed crib.

Would be great if true. If it is WVU leaving the BE I still think the BE keeps its AQ assuming that Boise comes on board (along with the oter mentioned teams Navy, Houston, SMU, etc.).

Look at this from a Oklahoma and Texas perspective. Who is a bigger threat to a NC title, Florida teams like UF and FSU, or Ohio State? If they invite USF, they will weaken UF and FSU some. We are already stealing big time recruits from them in the BE, imagine what we will do if we are playing in the Big 12?

Inviting USF would be a huge thorn in the side of UF. Inviting Cincy may also weaken Ohio State though too.

We're stealing big time recruits from FSU and UF? maybe the occasional guy or two, but they flinch and grab the next star recruit out there.
