Florida State

A-

Signing Antone Smith, Fred Rouse, Eugene Hayes, Derek Nicholson and Jamie Robinson in the final 48 hours deserves the A; no OL equals a reduction in grade.

Miami

B+

Offensive line, plus DBs Kenny and Randy Phillips (no relation), gives Hurricanes a great class, but no QB is a huge deduction.

Florida

B

Urban Meyer did well in short time span, but Gators failed to meet defensive-line needs.

UCF

C+

Really helped themselves with depth and more physical players on perimeter.

USF

B-

Best QB class among state schools.

FAU

C

It's a different grading system when you go head to head with big schools.

Running back A'mod Ned gives class a chance to succeed.

I agree.  UF signed a very solid class, but it wasn't heads and shoulders ahead of ours.  Their two shining talents that make their class are Reggie Nelson, and Jon Demps.

The rest are a bit overhyped, David Nelson is good but he jumped to four stars recently.  Louis Murphy's overhyped, I think the same about Stamper- not that he isn't great, just a bit overhyped.

Portis is the real deal, but we signed two comparable QB's.

I would put UF ahead of us in sheer star power, but overall not a class that shines well above us.
