Does anybody actually believe that crap about he was homesick? There's a lot more to that story, we just aren't hearing it. You don't get homesick from being a 6-hour drive away, college athletes are constantly with their nose to the grindstone and physical distance doesn't mean a lot when you're as busy as these kids are. To top it off, he was recruited as a high-major basketball player so he knew what he was getting into from the beginning.

I definatley believe there is something that he wanted to be closer to home for.

You said it, he was a high-major basketball player, or should we say recruit.  He transferred HOME to Mercer.

Don't know why we have to continually think everyone who leaves is because of Coach McCullum or some underlying "bad" issue.

Just what we needed ANOTHER Montavious Waters thread.  ;D

HE SAID his leaving had "NOTHING to do with basketball or USF."

Ex-Bull heading to Mercer

Former USF point guard Montavious Waters, who left the Bulls in the second week of the season, said he is transferring to Mercer. Waters, a freshman listed in the media guide as USF's "point guard of the future," played six minutes in one game. He will be eligible to play for Mercer in December 2005. The school is about 45 minutes from his Albany, Ga., home, and Waters reiterated that he left USF because of "personal problems" that had nothing to do with basketball or USF.

Times staff writer Greg Auman contributed to this report.

RMC does not foster a family like atmosphere nor does he make kids feel at home under his leadership.  These kids are 17-18 years old.  They don't need a cold, calculating hard a$$ 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Very progressive line of thought.

You're right. The way he's handling this Bradley Mosley thing is despicable .........

How else can you handle a situation like Mosley's?  Apples and oranges...

Also, when Waters started having personal problems, Coach Mac said he was much more concerned with him as a person than as a USF basketball player, so that shows he is a caring person.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
