RB question

A friend of mine told me we lost a RB recruit to fsu at the last minute. Anyone know if this is true and if it is which kid was it?

Yeah, that pesky five star stud Antone Smith snubbed us for FSU.  NOT!

The only guys that we battled FSU for were Charlie Graham, Kendrick Stewart, slightly Rod Owens, and they went after Gene Coleman (the JC LB we signed).

Obviously FSU won everyone except Coleman.  I don't know how hard they came after Coleman, but I am guessing in the closing weeks he was a fall-back if FSU didn't land Nicholson and Hayes.  

Oddly, of all the FL schools we've gone up against for recruits FSU we've fared the worst.  Even on guys we got to verbal then switch FSU is the most brutal.  We've won some very select Miami battles, and UF battles (UF wanted CJ Hunnicutt bad last year), but never an FSU.

I'm not so sure of that. There have been players according to Insiders who were supposedly offered by FSU who signed with us last year, but I don't remember who right now.

Maybe your friend meant OL recruit. It seems that Philip Browning who we were recruiting signed with them, according to Hargrave.

I think his dad or mom is a FSU alumni, according to an article I read, so that was a natural for him.

I just noticed that Browning is only a preferred walk-on at FSU. No wonder I couldn't find him in their recruiting class.

Does anybody know if we offered him a scholarship?

Yeah, I don't think we ever had a chance at Smith, I think he snubbed Miami at the last minute and went to FSU.  Would have loved to have him in the mix though.
