None of us are talking about him, but CJL still brought up his name.   He is a dark horse, but who knows with CJL is still considering him sounds like we will have plenty of competition before our new QB's even hit campus.

Lord Leavitt always mentions people ... but he needs to be considered with the QB play last season.

Just hope the job is solidified in the Spring so Hill and GrothE can RS.

unless denson looks awesome can we really afford to redshirt both hill and grothe.

the way i feel about pj right now is the way i felt about banks last season (i hoped he would never have to be under center).

You don't apply for the redshirt until after the season.  So, if CJL needs to use Hill or Grothe he can.

If you read the Carlton Hill article in the Trib today, it seems pretty clear that Hill EXPECTS to play and NOT redshirt in 2005. Of course, once he gets here and sees how much he has to learn, he may change his mind. If he is SET on not redshirting I'm sure Leavitt will let him take some snaps during the season at some point.

I agree... if he doesn't want to red shirt... there is always a place to use him.  He knows he has to earn whatever position he chooses, QB, WR, whatever.  He may decide, if the competition is very high, that redshirting will help him win the position in the future.

Any QB that comes to the party deserves a shot.  If he isn't good enough, he won't win the spot.

CJL does not keep people around without a reason.   I have not seen Kranky have you.   CJL must see something in him or he would be gone and CJL would not be bringing him up in public.   No one kicks a dead horse unless they think it might still have some life.

Point being, if Severino couldn't beat out Julmiste I hope that he can't beat out Hill/Grothe/Denson.   Denson #5 QB coming out of HS, Hill #9 QB coming out of HS and Grothe runner up for Mr. Football in the state.
