Question for those who understand the rankings

I have not seen the latest ranking but in the Trib this morning they mentioned we had the 4th best class in the BE.  I guess UofL made a last minute charge.  If we pick up RJF, were would that place us in the BE and nationally?  Are we currently 50th?  Thanks......USF96

Picking up Ricky wouldn't affect our ranking in the Big East... unless he somehow got boosted to a 5 star (not goin gto happen)

We are just under 150 pts behind, a 4 star can make up about 100 points and change.  A 5 star can make up over 200.

We'd still be 4th in BE, but we'd be only 25 pts behind LVille(45th) in 46th place.

We'd also pass by BC who is one spot ahead of us right now, who we also are replacing in the Big East.

Thanks, Velcro.  Fourth in the BE won't be so bad, I think we can out perform many  of those schools on the field anyway with our talent (past two recruting years) and so many experienced players returning.

What would really be nice is to pass up BC, since we are replacing them, and to close the gap between us and the top three.  There is a real logjam in the top of half of the BE and if I remember correctly a dropoff for the last four (if it stayed the same from last time I checked).  It won't be coincidental that those top four (PITT, WVU, UofL and USF) will be the ones to constantly battle it out year in and year out, just the way I see......USF96

I think UConn is going to be consistently in that mix every couple years as will 'cuse.  The two teams will probably rotate in and out as the 5th team, perhaps passing some of those 4 from time to time.

I see us in that list, of course, but we still have to prove it on the field in the Big East.  Until we do, the big east won't view us as any type of big time player in the conference.  We need to walk in their and wake them all up ;D

I think Rivals rankings are set in stone at the end of Signing day. So, any recruits signed later probaly wouldn't "count" in their rankings. The main thing is to get the players to count on the field.  ;D

It's quite simple. They probably have just a couple of USF subscibers - if that - so we are only an afterthought to them. It's a shame really since Jamie Newberg, their national recruiting analyst, is a USF grad and he should be making sure that they do a credible job when it comes to our recruiting. The fact that they gave Grothe two stars when he verballed to us early on and never changed it despite coming in runner up for Mr Florida Football speaks volumes.
