Haven't posted in a very long time (years) and this will probably be my last post as well.

I realize there is a 110% chance this gets merged or deleted but what the hell.

We were there for the beginning . . . now we are there at the end!

What pisses me off about this more than anything is how schools like Duke, Wake, Indiana, Baylor etc etc etc will probably make it.  Teams that have HISTORICALLY been absolutely crappy in football will still get to feast at the table and a school like USF, deserving or not (and I suppose that really depends on what criteria one is using) will be cast into the wasteland of college football.

You will see the demise of MANY programs (effectively dropping back to I-AA levels) due to finances - schools with longer histories than USF.

Of course your power schools will still need the sisters of the poor to kick around (see Duke, Wake, Indiana etc) and let's be honest, USF doesn't fit that mold.  We were damned if we did (i.e. beating ranked OOC teams) and damned if we didn't (if we had lost it would have been further proof that we didn't belong).

As for those complaining about the lack of news out of USF.  During the last go around, there was speculation aplenty about who was in and who was out in the new BE and USF's name was never mentioned so far as I recall.  I hope for the universities sake they have an ace or two left in their hand to play otherwise I think the wisest thing to do would be to close shop and just stick with the bball and other minor sports.  Noone is going to want to go back to scheules of UAB, Troy, USM, ECU etc etc etc.  I know I won't waste my time watching that crap!!!

I didn't even go to this university, EXCEPT football related events.

If USF never left 1AA I would still be going into work on Monday's barely with my voice because we fought Ga Southern/Drake, The Citadel(doesn't matter) to the bitter end.

I LOVE this USF Football team and will ALWAYS support it.

15 years and we are still building a fan base. VERY Frustrating.

Seriously?? After games like WVU (#5) or Auburn or FSU and ND?  Would you drive 350+ miles (one way) for games against the Citadel or Elon after all that?

I am not trying to turn this into a pissing match or who is the bigger fan, but until you drive 700+ miles (round trip) for a FAD/BFF since 1998 (with the exception of the one year they held it on a Sunday which inteterferred with my custodu schedule) don't even tryo call me a fair weather fan!!!

I live in Georgia so my desire to that would be seriously diminished.  I simply have no desire to sit and watch crap games like that and spend the week listening to ass clonws like DUKE fans diminsh our schedule.

It is one thing to have NEVER LEFT I-AA but we did and we have been hugely successful at it and I don't wanbt to go back.

Oh, and if it does end up with five 14-team BCS conferences (and USF makes it into that) it won't be a week before the other 4 conferences (SEC, ACC, P-12/16 and Big 10/11/12) start ******** about the B-12/BE remnant conference doesn't "DESERVE" its BCS bid!!!!
