.....when realignment happened the first time?  Did we have any idea the Big East was in our future?  How proactive were we and how visible were we in the media?

Pre expansion, nothing formal. This gets done and the public is made aware after the fact.

Don't remember exact details, but I think it was surprising. Judy and Lee Roy kept it quiet, lots of schools, particularly a certain one also in this state, were openly campaigning. I think the Big East commissioner even said that they annoyed him or something like that.

The only problem is that today we have social media.

The week leading up to Miami and VT leaving was quite... there was a bunch of rumors but for every rumor there was another one dismissing it... when it happened it was much like when Pitt and Cuse announced that they were leaving... caught everyone by surprise.

When USF was added it was a shocker... new rumors were leaked and no one expected USF to get picked... most of the rumors were about UCF or Memphis being added.

We were very low key in our aproach, much like now. Back then, LRS was a big help. We could have used him this time as well. May he rest in peace.

+1

We could really use LRS to conjure up some help for us right about now.

I was a student when the Big East announcement was made.  I remember reading it in the Oracle and thinking "but we just got into C-USA!".  There were no "whisperings" or rumors at all.  Just an announcement and bam!

We were on the outside looking in until BC made the move.
