At least 3. And I think we pass WVU. we were close before the weekend and we distanced ourselves from some teams that were getting a number of higher votes. My guess is 17th.

Does it really matter how badly we beat a 1-AA school?  We should not leapfrog West Virginia.  Hell, due to bias, Notre Dame could re-enter the polls ahead of us since they finally won a game this year.  Please don't seriously reply, that's sarcasm.

Agree that it might be more than two.  Yes, it was only FAMU.  But we put 70 on them with a lot of that coming during garbage time.  We hung more on them than other Top 25 teams did on their weak IAA opponents (Oregon and Baylor).  While the computers might not take notice, the pollsters do.

Beating a team like FAMU by 20 is not biggie.  Beating them by 53 points is a strong win and the kind of win we haven't put together against weak opponents in the past.  It was 14-14 at the end of the 1Q last year against Stony Brook.  And it wasn't until the second half where we really pulled away.  7-0 at the end of the first half against Western Kentucky.

We've often played down to our competition to start the game, only waking up in the second half for a blowout.  So far we've blown out Ball State and FAMU in the first half.  Very different from how things were in the past.

Hopefully we'll whoop on UTEP next week and then embarrass Pitt in Pittsburgh.

I believe the Baylor game was called in the 3rd quarter due to lightening...so we will never know how big a spread they could have put on SF Austin or whoever they were playing.  Why would the pollsters punish Baylor for that and have us jump over them?

**** they are football polls, you somehow think logic and reason apply? The reason we will jump is that we are gonna start seriously shedding the skeptical holdouts that voted us up in previous years. The reason we haven't risen any higher is due to skepticism on the part of a number of voters. I think this game puts part of  that to rest. You can argue the merits of our ascension but  we are a completely different football than those teams that so deceived the voters. Those teams operated at a level greater than their skill based on emotion and individual performances. This team is exactly that, a team. It makes far fewer errors and doesn't have to rely as greatly on individual heroic efforts. There are a number of areas where we are thin, but we are really cohesive as a unit. One area where I had some concern was DLine. Tonight they were overwhelming. Our running game was completely dominant and our receivers were stellar. Our schedule was set up perfectly to do what we want to do. ND was an inspiring blind side to a hallowed program. Then we have 3 games to hone the components.  After that, we are going to go steamroll Pitt.I think that's when some more of you doubters come on board. If we win , on the road, on 4 days rest, in a hostile Heinz field.I think the club will get crowded.

We'll jump more than than two spots because we just captured UCF votes from pollsters confused between the two schools. Thanks FIU...
