Anyone else notice how they blatantly played music right when they were announcing the captains and the Selmon's during the coin toss???

It was pretty obvious to those in my section.

Do that and we drop 70+ on you.

disclaimer (I seriously doubt they knew it was Lee Roy's family out there but I'm sure they make it a point to do this at every game because they know it will be mostly quiet at that time)

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure they didn't get the significance, but now I am even more glad they got the beat down.

I guess you didn't hear when their announcer honored selmon before the band played at half.

This botched 'honoring' was all on USF.  The PA music was blasting throughout the first half of the 'honoring' talk, you can be sure that no one notified the FAMU band director, and their was no finale recognition opportunity for all to rise in appreciation.  After getting everything right up to now with Selmon's demise, USF fumbled this one.

if u were mad at the FAMU band then u just suck. they were the hilight of the game and the FAMU fans were great guests.

if you think the band was the highlight of the game; then you should trade in your USF season tickets for season tickets to the Straz Center.

no i didnt hear that.  someone must of pointed out who they played over at the start of the game.  again- as i said originally-  i doubt the band knew it was Lee Roy's family but like i said- it is pretty obvious when plain dressed people are walking out to mid-field they are getting some sort of introduction.

and yes- our PA system sucks too for playing music during it as well.

FAMU's band is about the best in the country.  I am sure they did not know and were not told of the significance at the toss.  However, I will also point out they played over everything.  They played during their extra points, they played during play, and they played over every announcement.

I was trying to remember if HOT played against the FSU band when we were there or if there was more you play-we play attitude.

still, great half time show, great fans, great record setting night.

I don't blame USF... I blame the TSA who runs the stadium, I'm sure that USF notified them... I also agree with Matt it was pretty obvious what was going on and the FAMU band took advantage of it.
