2 games in, how will USF "realistically" do this season.

So, we are in week two.  USF with two wins.  Big East kind of fell off last week with WV and USF looking like the teams to beat this season in the BE.  Excited about that, and how USF has done so far....

Knowing we have a couple of games we should win the next two weeks, and assuming we take care of business, we are 4 - 0 and probably ranked 18 or so.

Then we have a tough road schedule with Pitt (thursday, short turnaround), UConn away, Cinci Home, then Rutgers and Syracuse away.  Miami then comes to USF and they will be back at full strength.  UL and WVU (thurs, short turnaround) at home after that.

Not that I wouldn't like us to go 12 - 0 in regular season, we all know that is hard to do in the BE given the level of the programs usually being about equal and a lot of "beating each other up" in the conference stretch.

So, how do you think we will end our regular season and if we lose some games, who will we lose to?

I don't like Pitt or RU on the road.  I also don't like UM back here, but mostly because they are going to be making up for the first half of the season where they were down many players.  I am seeing 10 - 2 or 9 - 3 based on those factors.

I think that Holtz and the other coaches realizes that this season is more about mental fortitude then anything else. The four road games in the BE make it difficult to got 12-0.  I think we drop one game on the road and one at home.  My prediction is 10-2.

I also agree, Miami will be back to full strength by the time they come to Tampa.  That will make that game difficult, but hopefully Miami will lack chemistry and motivation to win.

This won't be the first season I think we'll win the conference, so don't know how realistic I am.

This is a very good team though, again.

The only 2 games I am concered with are Pitt and WVU. We could fall in to a trap with the Rutgers-Syracuse games, but I think Holtz will have this team's mindset for the entire season. 11-1 is my answer.

Sticking to my prediction prior to the year, 12-0. BCS National Championship game vs. FSU.  ;D

I still feel my earlier prediction is on.

I felt we would split UM/ND, split Pitt/WVU and lose a conference game we shouldn't.

9-3/5-2.

Now if we beat UM/10-2. Win all games we are supposed to?

11-1.

Are you sure you want to go that far out on a limb making that prediction?  LOL  I'm thinking 2-3 losses in conference and the Miami game is 50-50 in Tampa.  9 regular season wins and a shot at the 10th win in the bowl game in Orlando is my realistic prediction.  With that said an undefeated season is within reach but 4 out of 5 conference games on the road and then return to play Miami pissed off about last season is a tall challenge.  And ewwwwww! to playing FSU in a BCS game.  The Seminoles have to much motivation against our Bulls.  Give the Bulls a shot at UF on nuetral ground to complete the trio or a shot at a SEC other than Auburn or Big Ten No. 2 (No. 1 goes to Rose.).

there isn't a single team left on our schedule that we can't beat. we are faster and more athletic than every team on our schedule with the exception of maybe Miami. we just need to play as consistently disciplined and focused as we have these first two games, and that goes to coaching. i think the biggest intangible over the rest of our schedule is coaching. Miami, as well as most of the Big East including league contenders WVU and Pitt (and uhh... cough reigning BE champs cough... UConn).

give me our talent and 2 years in Skip's system over the other teams and their coaching and i like our odds... but this is entirely a matter of execution, stamina and mental focus now.
