We know you didn't like Leavitt, or tired of him.

It was just a season ago you were not happy with the 3-4 conference record.

I do agree with smazza on the player development.

we should have dropped 60 on ball state..wait until we play better defenses points are going to be harder to come by. We should worry that we stall in the red zone. We need to get better. We are seeing HUGGGGE signs of good coaching and improvement but ill feel better when we start getting points on the board

BJ looks like a completely different player.

... than he looked like last year under this coaching staff.

He really didn't look horrible as a freshman thrust into action his first year under Leavitt.

I do like how this staff works though. I think they are able to see talent a little better, and play to these guys' strengths. So far (and I actually think they are holding back), they are keeping things very safe for BJ and he does look really good right now.

I do believe Holtz will be great for the program, and I can see differences.  As for player development, Yes, BJ looks much better.  Second year with this coach, more mature, understanding the scheme, and Holtz understanding BJ.

As for development overall, you cannot deny Leavitt really developed strong defensive players.  And, this season has started like just about every season for the Bulls, oh, except last year when we could not win our marquee away game at UF.

I think we have the makings of a great season if the first team stays healthy, second team better lose a little sleep working hard to get on the same page.

After Q Washington got the personal foul Coach Holtz sat him for the rest of the 1st half.

You can tell that special teams under Holtz is a priority.

Another thing is that we are not playing down to our competition. The team spirt is awesome.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
