This part of our game has been poor to this point.  I'm sure they are working on it daily, but kicking FGs is not going to get it done long term.

Go Bulls!

Borth the Red Zone scoring and the rd down conversions need to immprove or it will come back to bite us at some point. The problems are similar.

I'm very disappointed in our red zone efficiency.  Good-great teams don't have these issues consistently.  Against Ball State, we should have been near 50 points.    Disappointing, but glad they weren't pressed too much.

I may have been inebriated still, but seems to me more often than not it might be play calling a bit in the red zone.  We would dink and dunk with passes down the field and mix in runs but inside the 20 we decided to run up the middle more often than not.  Granted we should be able to run over ball state.

the one time I was sitting there thinking here comes a red zone run they threw the ball for a TD.  just a thought

We are not Wisconsin we don't need to embarrass our opposition unless it is UCF  ;D. We got up by 30 and called it game minus one drive in the third.

I just saw Todd Fitch's post game interview and it appears that he agrees that the red zone is a problem right now.  So I guess that puts you in the minority.

We stalled in the redzone and kicked 3 field goals in the first half, just like against ND.  Those 12 points would be a huge deal against a good team.  The coaches have to figure something out, because it become way more difficult to spread the field when the defense is compressed in the redzone.

Considering I never commented about the Red Zone offense...You fail today's reading comprehension test. It would take a fool with Green and Gold glasses on to think our Red Zone offense is anything but a crock of **** right now. I was commenting on putting 50 points on Ball State, no reason for us to do that. Get your panties out of bunch man. Better play calling needs to come in from the powers that be on the staff to get the Red Zone O on the right track. We are running up the middle almost every down in the Red Zone. Obviously that is not the answer.

Lighten up Francis.

It was clear to everyone else with decent reading comprehension that the 50 points wasnt about running up the score but about how much more effecient our offense should have been in the red zone. Take those field goal and field goal attempts off the board and put in TDs and we are approaching 50 points easy.

No, I think you have officially failed Football 101.  If a team only gets 9 points from four offensive red zone visits, that means the score would be well over 50 with 28 points instead of the 9 they got.  Success in the redzone yields high scores or are you saying that the coaching staff meant to kick field goals so that the score wouldn't be too high?  I agree with you, Holtz and Fitch that the red zone needs major work.  Now do a Rafael Nadal, reach back, and pull your panties out of your crack  :D
