1)  Where do you rank the win over Notre Dame in terms of magnitude and benefit to the program?

Big for recruiting but I rank it about even with FSU, Auburn win.  Need to win Big East

2)  Who's looking better?  Scott or Murray?

Murray right now, but I think Scott will come on big later in the season.

3)  Green helmets a new favorite of yours?

I am ok with it, just keep winning

4)  Had you ever had the privelege to meet Lee Roy Selmon?

Yes, when I was a athlete for USF I meet with him he was so nice.

5)  Where were you on 09/11/01?

On an Airplane flying into NY city.  Pilot turned our plane back to Philly and we sat on the tarmac for 30 minutes before they found an open gate.

1)  Where do you rank the win over Notre Dame in terms of magnitude and benefit to the program?

On a scale of 1-10, 7.5. It was big, but the fact that we've done it several times in the last few years, plus how we won (ie Notre Dame turning the ball over) detracted from it a little.

Sadly, no. I now regret it.

5)  Where were you on 09/11/01?

I was a freshman in high school. I was sitting in computer skills class and a kid got called down to the deans office and he came back and said that he saw the Twin Towers on fire on the tv in the library. Our teacher though he was joking and told him it wasn't funny. She turned the tv on and that pretty much ended class. Went to my next class and got there in time to see the first tower fall. Our principal came on the PA system and tried to calm everyone and get us back to school, but no one got any school work done.  When I walked home with my brother, several navy jets were flying low over the city (Jacksonville) and it was kind of scary. A day I will never forget.

Big for national perception but still behind Auburn and WVU in 2007

2)  Who's looking better?  Scott or Murray?

Murray but Scott can knock the **** out of some people.

I have to wait till I see all 3 on the field. Honestly, just keep winning.

Once at a USF football game for about 20 seconds.

 

5)  Where were you on 09/11/01?

I was at work about 3 miles from campus... spent the rest of the day trying to find my future wife and sister in law on campus... still remember it like it was yesterday.

1)  Where do you rank the win over Notre Dame in terms of magnitude and benefit to the program?

Top 5 easily. 2001 Pitt, 2007 Auburn, 2007 WVU, 2009 FSU are the bigger ones (not in order).

2)  Who's looking better?  Scott or Murray?

Murray. Both were unimpressive vs. Notre Dame, Murray did have the one drive where he was pretty dominant.

3)  Green helmets a new favorite of yours?

Hell yes! Looking forward to seeing the revamped Gold ones in game though.

4)  Had you ever had the privelege to meet Lee Roy Selmon?

No, have had the opportunity, but not big about caring to meet "celebrities".

5)  Where were you on 09/11/01?

Skipping school (high school), sleeping in. Got awoken by Mom yelling at me for skipping school and then expressing concern for my family in NY (they were fine).

1)  Where do you rank the win over Notre Dame in terms of magnitude and benefit to the program?

Because of my own personal experiences, the wins at Auburn and FSU, and over WVU will always be bigger.  The win over Notre Dame was significant.  I think what’s more telling is the breadth of opponents that we have defeated in the past few games dating back to last season.  USF is beating highly capable, BCS foes.  My only fear is that this win may have come too early in the season.  On the other hand, if we play it right, it could jump start a season that may be something special, thus making the significance of the game itself ever bigger.

2)  Who's looking better?  Scott or Murray?

During the Notre Dame game?  Murray.  However, I think, moving forward, we should expect more out of Scott; even the coaching staff reflected that he was tentative.  Once he relaxes, I think Scott may be something.

3)  Green helmets a new favorite of yours?

I like the green helmets and I like more that recruits like the alternate uniforms.  Unless you are Alabama, Penn State, or some other team with similar ingrained uniform tradition, I think it is smart to exploit the alternate uniforms.  You are kidding yourself (and probably a bit out of touch) if you think kids don’t let things like that affect their opinion of the football program.  

4)  Had you ever had the privelege to meet Lee Roy Selmon?

 

Briefly, while I worked for a short period at his restaurant (stadium location).  

5)  Where were you on 09/11/01?

In high school in North Dakota.  I had just completed Army basic training during my previous summer vacation.

Five Question Friday

1)  Where do you rank the win over Notre Dame in terms of magnitude and benefit to the program?

Up there with the FSU and UM victory. Wins like this starting to become the norm, allowing us to become real players in the hunt for a NC!

2)  Who's looking better?  Scott or Murray?

I think Murray looked better but think Scott will end up having a more productive year

3)  Green helmets a new favorite of yours?

Absolutely! Look sharp with the white jerseys.

4)  Had you ever had the privelege to meet Lee Roy Selmon?

Mr. Selmon came and spoke to us as a team every preseason. Just an amazing individual. Felt truly blessed to have met him and be around him quite a bit.

 

5)  Where were you on 09/11/01?

On my way to my biology lab when I heard the news. Thought is was a very small plane, a possible accident. Then the lab was cancelled and we rushed home to watch it all on the news. Will never forget that day.

1)  Where do you rank the win over Notre Dame in terms of magnitude and benefit to the program?

A) In the same category as our wins over Auburn, FSU, and to a lesser degree our wins over other ranked teams like Kansas, WV, and Louisville when we were up and coming. This win is great for recruiting and national tv exposure, but we will need to win the Big East and win the BCS bowl that we go to before I start really celebrating.

2)  Who's looking better?  Scott or Murray?

A) Murray, but its anyone's game right now... Scott could easily come from behind.

3)  Green helmets a new favorite of yours?

A) Surprisingly yes... I would prefer them with a center stripe though, the no stripe look does not look good unless its gold.

4)  Had you ever had the privelege to meet Lee Roy Selmon?

A) No, the closest I got to him was at the recent MCCB vs. Clemson... we were in the 8th row and he was prowling the sidelines with his family.

5)  Where were you on 09/11/01?

A) I was working in downtown Tampa at a law firm... around 8AM or so someone came in and said that a cessna has hit the towers and they are on fire. A few minutes later another person came in and said that one of the towers was ablaze... we thought they were joking or something and went to see what was going on about that time the second plane hit the building while I was watching. I then went back up to my office and grabbed my bag and got out of dodge, by the time I grabbed my bag and got back to the lobby the 1st tower had collapsed, shortly after that the TPD came busting into our building to evacuate the top floors of our building. Apparently they they were setting up sniper / scouting spots on top of the building to look for more airplanes or any loons with guns... (the desk security guard told me that part) The entire 10 top floors were off limits.

I remember leaving my building and seeing the TPD in riot gear and setting up stuff around the TPD HQ and a mess of cars around city hall. The news reported that a plane had hit the white house and that a F15 had shot down another jet liner in Pennsylvania that was headed to the capitol. At this time the news was reporting all kinds of outlandish things like a car bomb going off outside of the FBI building and that the pentagon was destroyed. It was chaos driving home. So I went home and locked myself in my apartment with my good friends Smith & Wesson and Jack Daniels.

1)  Where do you rank the win over Notre Dame in terms of magnitude and benefit to the program?

Definitely behind WVU and AU in '07 and FSU in '09, but I'd put it ahead of Miami last year. Top 5-7 would be my rank.

2)  Who's looking better?  Scott or Murray?

Murray. He looked a lot quicker in the 4th quarter of that game than I have ever seen him. Hopefully he doensn't run ot of gas when he breaks a long run.

3)  Green helmets a new favorite of yours?

Not really. I like the gold.

4)  Had you ever had the privelege to meet Lee Roy Selmon?

Not formally. Saw him and Leavitt one day on my way to class outside the ol' Ponderosa. Said a casual hello.

5)  Where were you on 09/11/01?

At my apartment on 50th st. I had an interview for a student job in the Admin building that got canceled.

1)  Where do you rank the win over Notre Dame in terms of magnitude and benefit to the program? Third, Auburn and FSU are ahead

2)  Who's looking better?  Scott or Murray? Murray so far.  Although, I like that Scott never got tackled backwards

3)  Green helmets a new favorite of yours? I want to wait until i see the other two in a game
