Ball State entered the game with a 1-46 record against teams from the top six BCS conferences. The Cardinals had lost 43 consecutive games before beating Indiana in 2008. Ball State lost three more games against such schools since then (Auburn, Purdue and Iowa) before getting its second win against the Hoosiers on Saturday. Ball State is now 2-46 in games against schools from the top conferences.

So what you're saying is Ball State and UCF are very comparable?  ;)

Still can't take them lightly.

Agree ... never take ANY team lightly. It's still 11 against 11 ... and players need to play 100% all 60 minutes !

Always push to be your best and fight for a starting position or fight to KEEP it.

Go BULLS !!!

Reading the comments on bsufans.com, it seems they came very close to beating Auburn and Nebraska when they were ranked. Not sure what season this was, but be prepared...

They had a good QB that year.  Can't think of his name but he was 3rd string for the Niners for a few seasons

Going back 10 years, they've played Auburn 3 times. The composite score is 147-33, with the closest game being 54-30 in 2009. They've played Nebraska once in those 10 years, 2007, not the same year they played Auburn, and only lost 41-40, but the Huskers were 5-7 that year ... Not exactly sure what they are refering to.

Edit: Nebraska was ranked #24 when they played them so that fits ... still not sure where the Auburn stuff came from ... and the QB was Nate Davis.

Bleh...my fault, they were talking about Michigan not Auburn in that regard (their forum is harder to navigate).

Quote from their site:

"This game could be similar to the Nebraska and Michigan games we almost won a few years back. I hope the outcome is different this time. The key is continuing to play physical against a more physical team..."

Edit :Yeah checking their stats against Auburn, they definitely weren't talking about that.

Nate Davis. He's not with the 49ers anymore.

Ball State should not challenge us in any way.  While our run game looked suspect against ND, there is no way Ball State can bring enough offense to beat us.  It shouldn't be close.  2-47 is about to be served up.  And I am not a trash talker to opposing fans, but this really had better not be much of a game.

After this weekend's game I think people will realize just how big and good Notre Dame's front 7 was.  I think you will really see a very solid running game this week for us.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
