Interesting fact:  Since USF started playing football, the team has played 5 away "season opener" away games.....

1999  at San Diego State                (L)

2001  at Northern Illinois                (L)

2003  at Alabama (Birmingham)    (L)

2005  at Penn State                      (L)

2011 at Notre Dame                (W)

Another first during the Holtz era!!

Holtz is truly writing a new chapter to USF football.  None of the old stigmas apply to this team anymore with him on the sidelines.

While I think we are headed in the right direction, until we win the BE I can't see how you can say that?  The prior regime had plenty of big wins like this.

Good point there, although under Holtz, USF has already erased the midseason swoon, beaten Miami, beaten a BCS team in a bowl, beaten Louisville and Cincinnati at their respective cities, stopped the Rutgers debacles, etc.

If I'm leaving any other stigmas out please advise.  Wasn't thinking about the BE for a moment, got caught up in the moment.  :D

I agree and not having a midseason swoon which we changed last season is a step in the right direction. We have to show we can win conference games later in the season If we are to win a BE championship.

This ... it doesn't do any good to erase mid-season swoons when you sandwich it between beginning and end of season swoons ... Winning the BE is the separator from the previous regime.
