Again, depends on the respect the voters give ND.

28... we will remain here until we play Pitt, unless a number of teams ahead of us lose an we get bumped up that way... otherwise we won't get ranked until and IF we beat Pitt...

Pitt will be the biggest game of the season because it will allow us and the national pollsters to judge how good we are.

I voted # 25.  3 teams ranked between 16-25 lost and will likely drop out.  Plus some others such as USC and AU barely won against marginal teams.  That opens up at least 3 spots.  If not USF, then who is more deserving of one of these 3 spots?

I agree.

Preseason poll.  I doubt we pass most of the NR "also receiving votes" crowd.

Don't rank us until we beat Pitt on the road.

Could potentially happen depending on who in the top 25 loses, our margin of victory over our next several opponents.  I feel like the final score was good for USF, we didn't rout them so people can't say ND sucked, but we didn't come from behind and embarrass them either.  If people pay attention to what Rees did in the 2nd half then people might say USF beat a decent USF.

Or maybe it's all a pipe dream and I'm one giant optimist ...  :-\

Here's how I see the poll coming out.

1 Oklahoma - took care of business

2 LSU - impressive win over Oregon, they'll jump Bama for now

3 Alabama - took care of business

4 Boise State - win over UGA is nice, but not that nice. SoS is still their most difficult enemy

5 Florida State - took care of business

6 Stanford - took care of business

7 Texas A&M - took care of business

8 Oklahoma State - took care of business

9 Nebraska - took care of business

10 Wisconsin - took care of business, Russell Wilson will be great this year

11 Virginia Tech - took care of business

12 South Carolina - a bit off, but once Garcia came in, they clobbered ECU, but VT jumps them

13 Arkansas - took care of business

14 Ohio State - took care of business

15 Michigan State - took care of business, but expected more scoring, OSU jumps them

16 Mississippi State - makes a big leap, they're legit, even against a crappy Memphis team

17 Missouri - took care of business, a little shaky

18 Oregon - they'll fall to about here, but I expect them to still do well when they're NOT playing SEC defenses

19 Florida - took care of business

20 West Virginia - took care of business

21 Penn State - took care of business (not sure how good they really are)

22 Baylor - hello, Baylor! RG III is a beast

23 Auburn - held serve, but they're going to lose alot of SEC games if they struggle against USU

24 USC - struggled against Minn, but still won

25 BYU - the win over Ole Miss is just enough to get them in

Receiving Votes (no order):

Houston - looks REALLY good with Keenum back

TCU

Georgia - tough loss but it was to a Top 5 team

Notre Dame

NIU

Hawaii

UCF

Arizona

Arizona State

Northwestern

USF

Houston gave up 38 to UCLA, who sucks. They better not be ranked ahead of us.

Honestly, I think we'll sneak in.

Think about the national perception of Notre Dame.  People REALLY do think they are good this year...

People think we'd be good too...but they were afraid to say it.

I think the way people think of Notre Dame will help us get ranked.

Book it!  :)

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
