"When he was at Notre Dame, Krug’s assistant coach was Skip Holtz, now head coach at the University of South Florida, which plays at Notre Dame this Saturday.

Krug said the best thing USF has going for it is Skip Holtz; he’s been there, done that many times on the sacred ground Irish fans call Notre Dame Stadium.

“Skip was a great coach when he was at Notre Dame. It wasn’t easy for him because his father was already a legend,” Krug said. “The one advantage USF has is that Skip coached there and played there. He can cancel some of that (mystique) out, but you can’t delete it.”
