Our Offense, the Official Story

I'm coming to believe that this meme "Our Offense struggles against our Defense" is a disinformation campaign. Holtz now claiming he has no depth on offense before the first game is kind of a Bre'r Rabbit ploy, "please don't throw our offense in dat Briar Patch".

We have been feeding all these media stories the idea that our offense is way behind. I think we are playing on last years struggles to disguise the offense that we have put together THIS year.

It seems like we are intentionally downplaying our offensive capabilities and talent. I got a feeling we come out gunslinging on Saturday. This may be fun to watch.

This thread isn't the Official Story, it refers to what the writers are getting spoon fed by our coaching staff. Hence "The Official Story" as opposed to what may really be happening. it's definitely a Conspiracy Theory, I mean for crying out loud, what good would a blog be without a few conspiracy theories. :shhh

Yep. Defense seems fine. You would expect that we would still have depth issues on offense at this point, considering we had none last year.

The biggest concern for Holtz with a week left before the first game continues to be depth, though it seems to exist on only one side of the ball now.

“I look at the depth on our defense, and I feel really good about it,†Holtz said. “I look at the depth of our offense, and I think there’s a pretty significant drop off from our ones to our twos.â€
