No. 16 Notre Dame

Just don’t get too cocky yet, Irish fans. This could be a huge season in South Bend, but USF was 8-5 last year, too, and had comparable wins. And as much as everyone loves Brian Kelly, the Bulls’ Skip Holtz can coach a little bit, too.

I think this is the second time I've seen ND listed as "vulnerable".

That's impossible. This game has already been played on paper and ND won convincingly. You know, because the only good starter is a returning starter.

exactly.  never in all my years of watching football and reading scouting reports have i see a particular team's fans be so sure that the reason we will lose to them is because they have more returning starters than we do.

its funny that they do this and say how we lost our starting RB (they are referring to Plancher) starter WR (bogan) and some OL and cant really grasp the idea that the guys we have behind them are actually more talented they were either redshirted or injuried.

as for defense- we constantly rotate beasts in and out of our lineup and the group of guys we have probably have never been this deep or this big and strong.

Yeah, Murray was as good as Plancher last year and now we have Scott, obviously.  Love had either the same or more yards than Bogan in 2008 and 2009.  Popek pushed Jamar Bass last year for the spot and had a great off season.  Eatmon is more talented than Sims  but he is a freshman so we'll see how he does.  Estenor and McCaskill have improved so hopefully they aren't much of a drop off from Genus last season.

Feeling really good about every spot on defense right now.  We've finally got the right size at DT, huge DEs in great shape, 2 future draft picks at LB, and several possible draft picks in the secondary.

What I find even more humorous is that they point out how horrible our offense was last year (and it was) but then harp on the lack of returning offensive starters. This is so counter-intuitive. Wouldn't you want us to be returning as many players as possible from a horrible offense?

I still find it crazy that both of ND's starting DEs are 6'-4 & 300 lbs....how fast can you be at that size

I checked their bmi  (36.5) and is said they were SEVERELY OBESE

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
