I thought I read we'd see one by the end of Vero...any thoughts on the depth chart?

From what I have seen, read and heard about Floyd, this preseason, I think he should be our #2 qb.  He had a great scrimmage to add.  I don't think Holtz, Fitch or Vaas would do that to Bobby, but I am all about performance.

Unless he's truly pushing BJ for the starting spot, there's no reason he shouldn't be red-shirted.  Do the same thing we did with Eatmon last year.  Prepare him with the 2's and 3's, but don't play him unless there's an injury issue.

TBO_USFBulls Adam Adkins

Armando Sanchez has moved back to LB. Skip Holtz said emergence of fr. Tye Turner at FB allowed it, adds Sanchez felt more comfortable at LB

Tye makes more sense at FB. Armando will once again be our Special Teams ace!

Agree.

And it does seem Holtz is VERY happy with our #1's across the board for maybe a couple positions..

Go BULLS !!!

Floyd has no experience against live competition or opponents, so you can't officially grade him on true performance at this time.  You gotta make Eveld the #2 seeing as he has seen significant live action.  You gotta redshirt Floyd at this point, no exceptions.

That said, in the unfortunate event that B.J. and Eveld go down or are grossly ineffective, you have to feel good about Floyd's talent level in the event he is needed.

Another option is to redshirt Eveld and let Floyd be the mop up QB this year. This way they would both have live experience. This scenario is not likely, but is possible.

i think Bobby has proven to be an effective back up.  doesnt make sense to burn a year of Floyd unless we have to.

not many programs play true freshman QBs.
