Shut off guest posting?

The UCF fans went hog wild today making guest posts in other people's names, being completely ignorant, and just simply trying to cause problems.  I believe we need to shut off guest posting for the next week, until after LOI Day is done and enough time to talk about recruiting has taken place.

I hate squelching any realm of freedom of speech, but they can always register...

We understand your concerns and do plan to have a policy in place tonight that will address guest posting in and more in the short term - specifically NLOI Signing Day.

The policy has been reviewed by some of the admins and mods with approval.  I will have it posted shortly.

Guests are voting in this poll - some to be "shut off" for a week - odd.  Maybe they need to get some real work done!!

An accident on my part, now rectified...

Shut it off until at least after signing day, they were a big part in the site crashing last year, and all the members were the one's that lost out.  As Mike said, if they want to post so badly then they can register too, if not they can still navigate the site and view threads related to recruiting if they are interested, they just cannot post.

Guests will not even be able to read through LOI because it was not the posting that drove the server to ruin last year, it was hundreds of people refreshing threads every second for news.  This will be disallowed on Wednesday and into Thursday most likely.
