2. Darrell Scott, RB (Colorado to USF)

Scott was the top running back in the Class of 2008, with the Dr. Saturday blog describing him as “by far the most sought-after, highest-rated running back in the country when he signed with Colorado in 2008.” Well, he didn’t quite live up that hype in Boulder. He was tagged as lazy, out of shape and entitled with the Buffaloes.

He rushed for less than 400 yards as a freshman and barely played in 2009 before a season-ending knee injury, leading to his decision to go for fresh start at South Florida. The Bulls’ now list him at 230 pounds, which is 25 pounds heavier than his high school playing weight in Ventura, CA. USF needs a boost to its running game and hopes he can live up to his previous hype. He appears to be the starting running back and now paired with QB B.J. Daniels, Scott could finally fulfill expectations.

That's my question also. Is there anyone around with a feel for how he's developing in our system?

From what I've heard from Skip, he is going to be a beast. Obviously, Skip isn't singing his praises all over the place because of Scott's "entitlement" issues. The Skipper will get the most out of Scott's talents. Look at what the man did for Chris Johnson. Give Holtz a lemon and you get sweet sweet lemonade.

I believe Holtz used the term ' freak of nature' regarding Scott. Also ' he has a chance to be really special'.

For all of us I guess the question is will he be an Andre Hall or a Mike Ford?

Well he's been on campus almost a year and hasn't found himself riding a moped without a license so we have one positive.

Hey, if he could have stayed out of trouble, Ford performed on the field. He was always more of a risk than Scott seems to be.

Not to go too off topic... but you could hardly consider Mike Ford a bust... Did he break all Dre's records no.. but he did score lots of TDs and was a huge difference maker in multiple games... Never really got a chance to be the workhorse he was suppose to be (not saying thats not partially his fault)

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
