UCF claims they are on schedule with USF in 2014

Just curious. If the deal was anything other than a home and home series (meaning USF benefits more), would you be okay with signing a deal to play UCF?

If it is going to be OCC game.  Thanksgiving is perfect weekend.  It will help fill seats in what would be a low attendance game.

If we're winning games as we should, there won't be any issue filling our stadium. UCiF offers more cons than pros... It's a lose lose for USF.

To play devils advocate... UCF was ranked last year.

That was a BS ranking and anyone who actually pays attention and looks at their record knows it. They didn't beat a single team with a winning record and UGA didn't give a **** whether they won that bowl game or not. UCiF looked good because they were playing horrible CDOA teams and an SEC team that quit.

Stopping this was the dumbest thing ever.

They might have had one or two wins to this point, but people think they have surpassed us because they haven't been able to compare it on the field.

Quitting the series actually strengthened them. Like in Kung Fu panda, sometimes your worst fears are realized by trying to avoid them.

I hope Skip is still in town and I hope we crush them.

"People" don't think they've past us....UCif fans think they've past us.

Maybe it was the way we beat them (squandering our lead and beating them in OT), but the last time we played them, we won and actually dropped in the rankings.

Pros

1) Almost a guaranteed sellout every time

What was the attendance for that first ever game in 2005 again?

The only reason the 2007 game had that large of an attendance figure was because of our ranking and the buzz that was around our program.

I'm not sure now much stock one should take in listening to O'Leary since the league just took one of our non conference games off of Thanksgiving weekend.

I would think financially it would make sense:

Presuming they bring at least 10,000 fans at $25 a pop you've got $250,000 in additional Revenues (compared to what something like 750 fans for a team like UTEP). You would likely have more local fans come out as the "commonor" might see it as a fun rivalry game to attend. The return trip to Orlando saves money on travel expenses. Potentially most significantly, the chance its picked up by a larger tv network than locally on BHSN.

The problem with that is the Big East just asked us to move a OOC game off of Thanksgiving weekend, so that we could play a conference game. Since the article is written under the assumption that this is going to be an OOC I don't see it standing up to be played that weekend.

Our game against Miami wasn't low at all when it was played in Tampa on Thanksgiving weekend.

I think you all need to grow a pair and realize the value of clobbering some team that is trying to steal your lunch in recruiting.

They have been telling kids we are afraid of them, that they have surpassed us etc.

Well, who can prove them wrong? Not us because we don't play them.

You say their ranking is BS. What better way to prove that then to whip their ass on the field?

You people are absurd. UF is not going to schedule us, they have their games locked in. FSU isn't going to do it. We know Miami won't. Why not get the most value out of your Florida school non-BCS option by playing the team in your backyard that will fill up your stadium and help on the recruiting trail.

Leavitt had vision? He shot himself in the foot on that one. For such a tough guy he sure came across as afraid to play them. The fan base that backs that up makes us look weak.  Everyone else can see that but some of you.
