Dave Wannstedt is out after six seasons at Pittsburgh

Once Randy "Lucky" Edsel leaves Uconn, Skip will be like the third oldest tenure coach after only one year LOL

We now have a general idea of how long a BE coach has to win a BE Title outright - 6 years the 'stache was there according to the article.  Should be about time for Schiano to go.  He might be past that.

I'm kinda suprised he lasted as long as he did. He was able to recruit pretty well but just couldn't get it done on the field.

I think his contract makes that very unlikely.  6 years left on it or something like that.

It was more wishful thinking on my part.  Had no idea what his contract situation was.

doubtful we get any of their verbal commits or recruits.

I hear Wannstache may stay on in a non-coaching capacity (aka recruiting)

Interesting, He was a dud as a coach. I wonder who is on the short list to replace him?

Maybe the 'Stache will wind up at Miami! ;)

Was thinking he may end up in Miami as a DC or something. He can recruit like hell, and he's a good defensive guy, but just never could get that team over the hump.

Mike Leach would be a good guy to get things going down there in Miami, and with Wanny as his DC, it could get serious. Miami says they're not with Leach, but Miami is a team that NEEDS an out-there coach who uses a very exciting style of offense to put butts in the seats. Their pro style they have been running is boring, and that team depends on the city around it for support.
