What about Univ. of Houston?

The way I understand the rumours, ND would usually have to go 6-0 to win the Big East. 5-0 in division play, and then win the BE Championship Game.

There's also a scenario where ND could even win their division at 4-1 if the team they lost to went 3-2 in division play, so they could potentially win the BE with a 5-1 record.

The Big east will do almost ANYTHING to keep ND in the league for all-sports, that's why this rumour has legs.

The divisions could be called Legends and Upstarts, LOL

It's still a stupid idea.

Maybe instead of Upstarts it should be C-USA Alumni?

Yeah I forgot to include the Championship game in the team's record. Hey if ND can beat UWV and Pitt and then turn around and beat the other division leader (i.e. TCU or South Florida) so be it.

They would actually be taking on a much tougher schedule than they usually play.

Notre Dame could still schedule 4 traditional games every year.

They could play USC/Stanford every other year.

Play Army/Navy every other year.

Play Michigan State/Michigan every other year.

Play Purdue/Boston College every other year.

Being that all of those teams are AQ teams except Army and Navy, they'd definitely have a tough schedule almost every year, and winning the BE and some of those OOC games would surely guarantee them BCS games and realistic shots at the national title if they were an 11-1 type of team.

Am I the only one that thinks this is a terrible idea?

Apis, if it's inevitable, just lie back ....

Don't you mean, bend over?
